Microwave oven and microwave-assisted lost-wax casting process

A lost-wax casting process comprising: an application step to the surface of a wax model, a susceptor, and a characterization step. A variable microwave power is applied to the wax-susceptor-ceramic shell assembly in an oven, where said power application comprises several stages: (a) initiation with a high microwave power to melt the wax in contact with the susceptor, (b) reduction of that power to prevent excessive thermal expansion of the wax that could cause cracks in the ceramic mold, and (c) dewaxing. In the final stage, the microwave power is increased again to achieve complete dewaxing, where the melted wax expelled from the interior of the ceramic mold is finally kept warm, conveyed, and collected or transferred for reuse.

This invention also includes a microwave oven for applying the aforementioned process, both continuously and in batches.
