This invention relates to the use of compositions containing menadione (Vitamin K3 or Provitamin K) and/or some of its water-soluble derivatives to improve the salt stress tolerance of affected plants. The treatment is carried out by applying the solutions containing the aforementioned compounds by any means that brings the compositions of the invention into contact with any part of the plant and/or seeds.
The compounds are systemic, biodegradable, non-pesticide, non-toxic and environmentally harmless.
They are not dangerous to plants, animals, or people.
Optimal growth is achieved in plants subjected to saline stress.
