They may be protected by Utility Model, during 10 years From the application stage, inventions with industrial application, which are new and involve inventive step and consist of providing a object o product a configuration, structure, or composition that results in some advantage for its use or manufacture.Procedures are excluded from this category.So, what can a Utility Model be?In addition to utensils, tools and devices, the New Patent Law extends the scope to products that meet the requirements as long as they do not fall under biological matter and are not pharmaceutical substances or compositions (understanding the latter as those used as medicine in human or veterinary medicine).
