Adaptation to Climate Change of Energy Systems in Macaronesia (ACLIEMAC)

In order to improve the capacity of the archipelagos of Macaronesia and West African countries to adapt to climate change at the energy level, a series of actions are proposed that contribute to increasing their resilience.

The main objective is to reduce energy dependence on external sources so that, in the face of natural disasters caused by the effects of climate change, these territories have guaranteed access to and supply of energy. To this end, a preliminary assessment of the current energy model will be carried out, analyzing the risks and vulnerabilities to which these territories are exposed, in order to implement specific measures for their optimal adaptation to climate change. The project's lines of action are aimed at promoting the development of new sustainable economies (Circular, Blue, and Low-Carbon), adapting energy infrastructure to climate change, and reducing energy consumption across various sectors.
