Research, identification, risk analysis, training and awareness-raising on potential quarantine pests and regulated non-quarantine pests in the main crops of the study regions (CUARENTAGRI)

The CUARENTAGRI project aims to identify the pests that may affect the different regions that make up the study areas (Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Cape Verde and
Senegal), either through imports of vegetables from third countries or through new communications between different regions, which are becoming increasingly common due to the tourism boom in these areas
areas.

Next, measures to reduce the risk of pests entering the country will be designed and established, and alert networks will be implemented for their early detection, with contingency plans being drawn up for the eradication of pests detected in the different regions.

Ultimately, the purpose of this project is to prevent/reduce the establishment of new harmful organisms in the different study areas, emphasizing better training for competent technicians in the field and information for the sector and the general public.
