Monitoring, control and mitigation of marine organism proliferations associated with human disturbances and climate change in the Macaronesian Region (MIMAR+)

MIMAR+ consolidates and expands upon the advances in knowledge gained from MIMAR, aiming to bring together stakeholders across the region under the umbrella of a Marine Observatory dedicated to conducting a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of introduced and invasive species, habitat loss and abuse (HLBA), and changes caused by global warming and human activity on marine habitats. It will propose common methodologies for monitoring, control, and mitigation. Furthermore, MIMAR+ will disseminate all the scientific knowledge acquired and implement an ambitious training and awareness program on the changes occurring in the marine environment and its conservation.
