In 2016, a program was launched to support research activity with high transfer potential, aimed at developing advanced technological products that impact the market and have a possible commercial exploitation in priority sectors for the island economy.

This program, funded by the Tenerife Island Council, focuses on qualified, competitive human capital with high technological skills who, through the annual "Agustín de Betancourt" (AdB) calls, undertake the development of projects with high transfer potential.

The AdB and its projects also have the support of a research team from the University of La Laguna and a company that endorses and actively collaborates on the projects.
