TABONA, It takes its name from the word used by the Guanches, the original inhabitants of Tenerife, to refer to obsidian, a precious raw material they used in their stone tool industry. Initially conceived as a platform for the research conducted by members of the Department on the recent prehistory of Western Sahara and southern Iberia, as well as the Canary Islands, it soon opened its doors to external contributions and expanded its content, both geographically and chronologically, to include works from the Paleolithic to protohistory. It contains original articles, reviews, and critiques on prehistory and archaeology in general.
