LETRA Program: tutorial learning system for teacher training in reading instruction.
Diploma of Specialization in the Teaching of Reading
The LETRA Program is a learning system that uses the Moodle platform to create a virtual educational environment. It is designed as a training tool for early childhood and primary school teachers, as well as professionals in psychology, pedagogy, educational psychology, speech therapy, and other specialist and support staff.
The study begins with a rigorous analysis of the LETRA Program and its relationship to the ULL's Postgraduate Diploma in Reading Instruction. It also offers a summary of the results of the evaluation of the teaching materials included in the LETRA Program, conducted through a pilot project in the Canary Islands over two academic years (2008-2009 and 2009-2010). Finally, it details the design principles and development process of the tutorials on the LETRA Program website, www.programaletra.ull.es, as well as the internal structure of each book and the contents of its "Libraries.".
The development of the LETRA Program has been made possible thanks to funding from the National R&D&I Plan of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (PSI2009-11662) and the participation of the professors and fellows who make up the ULL research group “Learning difficulties, psycholinguistics and new technologies» (Link).
