This volume is aimed at university students of engineering and architecture, who can use it as a guide in their technical training.
Its authors, Eduardo González and Ana María Alloza, professors belonging to the Department of Construction Engineering, have included in it the methods to obtain the proportions in which the different components must be mixed, in order to obtain concretes of the same strength, durability and compactness.
The book presents a series of basic concepts for the preparation of this construction material, such as knowledge of granulometric analysis, obtaining composite aggregate and the consistency and resistance of concrete, in addition to tables and graphs of the different dosage methods.
These methods can be divided into two groups: those based on cement content, such as the Fuller and Bolomey methods; and those based on compressive strength, such as the de la Peña method. The title includes application examples of each technique to facilitate a better understanding.
