Paper volcanoes

Bibliographic exhibition

With “Paper Volcanoes,” the academic institution celebrates Book Day. The exhibition brings together 70 books from the university's rare book collection, which analyze various aspects of volcanological phenomena.

It is divided into five thematic sections: “Knowledge of volcanoes”, which includes works of a historical nature; “Causes of volcanoes”, which analyzes the various explanations that have been given at different times about these phenomena; “Hispanic volcanoes”, which details feats and explorations developed in the Spanish Empire; “Volcanoes of ink”, which shows various engravings and graphic representations; and “Volcanoes in writing”, with literary examples from authors such as Dante, Quevedo or Antonio de Viana, among others.
