Synthetic organic chemistry as an essential science in the development of humanity

This inaugural lecture will focus primarily on organic chemical synthesis, understood as that aimed at the production of organic compounds. However, it must be established from the outset that, as with other branches of science, the defining boundary of what is known as "organic" can sometimes be blurred.
