Classical music in the Canary Islands

To mark World Book Day, an exhibition dedicated to classical music in the Canary Islands is being held.

This volume compiles and expands upon the texts of the exhibition's information panels, thus forming a brief history of musical production in the Canary Islands, especially the capital islands, from the 16th century to the present. It represents a synthesis of the history of classical music known to date. This publication should be considered a taste of the history of classical music in the Canary Islands. The author believes that this type of research is often like discovering hidden treasures, as it unearths scores by Canarian composers in the most unexpected places.
