This work addresses a philological field as important as it is understudied in our country: medieval Romance literature. It begins by establishing the unity of Romance literature and its continuity with medieval Latin literature. It delves into troubadour lyric poetry and Galician-Portuguese cantigas, presenting numerous texts. It touches on medieval Spanish and French epic poetry, discussing in some detail the romans, a genre derived from it. It also offers a brief introduction to Italian literature. References to contemporary Romance remakes of medieval works are included.
