The introduction includes a historical overview of palynological work carried out in the Canary Islands. The first chapters are dedicated to defining aeropalynology, pollinosis, the origin and morphological characteristics of atmospheric palynomorphs, and presenting sampling methods. They also detail the instruments and equipment most frequently used for sample collection and describe in detail the techniques used in the preparation and subsequent microscopic study of the samples. Chapter 8, with a descriptive catalog of 139 polynomorphs, constitutes the core of the book. It contains comprehensive information for each palynomorph and a total of 218 photographs, some of them exquisite, distributed across 12 plates, which facilitate microscopic identification. A detailed glossary, catalogs of common and taxonomic names, and a comprehensive bibliography comprise the final part of the book.
