A perennial herbaceous plant, edible and native to coastal areas. It has a glaucous, striated, and twisted stem bearing fleshy, grayish-green, bi- or tripinnatisect leaves with linear-lanceolate segments. The yellowish-green flowers are arranged in terminal compound umbels (umbels of umbels).
