The white tajinaste of Anaga is a local endemic to Anaga. It belongs to the group of monopodial tajinastes, meaning they do not branch during their growth and die after flowering, usually in their second year. Its leaves grow in a basal rosette and are large, lanceolate, and bluish-green. Its flowering stems can reach over 2 meters in height and are composed of numerous striking white flowers. Of the 60 species in the genus Echium Of those that exist, approximately 39 live in Macaronesia and only here do they have the character of woody plants.
