Graduates of the Double Degree in Nautical Studies and Maritime Transport and in Marine Technologies acquire a comprehensive education that allows them to perform both operational and technical functions within the maritime sector.

The qualification provides skills related to:

  • Maritime transport management and port logistics.

ACCESS TO THE PROFESSIONAL TITLE OF SECOND CLASS MERCHANT MARINE PILOT

To obtain the professional title of Second Class Pilot of the Merchant Marine, in addition to completing university studies, students must meet the requirements established by current maritime regulations, including:

  • Pass the maritime embarkation medical examination carried out by the Social Institute of the Navy. 
  • To demonstrate the physical aptitudes required for maritime professional practice. 
  • To validate professional specialty certificates before the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine (DGMM). 
  • Process the Maritime Registration Booklet. 
  • Meet a minimum shipping period of 12 months. 
  • Pass the professional suitability test established by the competent Ministry. 

The internships carried out during the degree may be approved by the DGMM. 

ACCESS TO THE PROFESSIONAL TITLE OF SECOND CLASS ENGINEERING OFFICER OF THE MERCHANT MARINE

To obtain the professional title of Second Class Engineer Officer of the Merchant Marine, it will be necessary to meet, in addition to the academic requirements of the degree, the professional conditions required by maritime regulations:

  • Pass the official maritime medical examination. 
  • Demonstrate the physical capabilities necessary for technical work on board. 
  • To validate maritime professional certificates before the DGMM. 
  • Obtain the Maritime Registration Book. 
  • Complete a minimum embarkation period of 12 months. 
  • Pass the official professional suitability test. 

External internships undertaken during the dual degree may be recognized as part of the required maritime professional training period.
