Royal Decree 1393/2007 of October 29, which establishes the regulations for official university education, states that to obtain any bachelor's degree, students must prepare and defend a final project, which assesses the competencies associated with the degree. It carries 6 ECTS credits and must be completed during the final phase of the curriculum. 
This is a compulsory subject, therefore, all students of the Nursing Degree must enroll in it. 
ORDER CIN/2134/2008, of July 3, explicitly states that the Final Degree Project is a transversal subject whose work will be carried out in association with different subjects.

ABOUT THE STUDENT AND HIS WORK

The Final Degree Project involves the individual completion by the student (generally) of a project, report or original study under the supervision of one or more supervisors (tutors), in which the training content received, capacities, competencies and skills acquired during the teaching period of the Degree are integrated and developed. 

Each project is linked to a line of research initiated by the tutor. The student selects the project in strict order of the student's file and in a public ceremony held in October of each academic year.

The content of each Final Degree Project will correspond to one of the following types:

• Experimental nursing-related projects may be carried out in university facilities, laboratories, and nursing care centers (primary and specialized), as well as in relevant centers and companies. Methodologically, these projects may be carried out quantitatively, qualitatively, or using a combination of methods.
• Bibliographic review and research focused on different fields related to the degree.
•  Other works will correspond to professors' proposals that do not fit the above modalities and that are approved by the TFG committee.

The TFG must integrate and apply, with professional judgment, the skills acquired throughout the degree, and incorporate new skills specifically related to the TFG (autonomy, initiative, implementation and development of previously acquired knowledge, skills and strategies), as well as provide efficient solutions to problems arising from the TFG itself. 
For the evaluation of the TFG, the student must present the work done publicly before the Evaluation Court.

ABOUT THE TUTOR

It is a requirement that the final degree project supervisor hold a doctoral degree or be a doctoral candidate. Final degree project supervisors come from various health science disciplines (nursing, medicine, psychology, and pharmacy), all coordinated by a nurse with a doctorate.

The core of the Final Degree Project (TFG) lies in the tutorials, which serve as the forum for interaction between the student and their supervisor. Each supervisor works with a maximum of three students during eight tutorials throughout the academic year. The TFG topic is drawn from the institution's own research areas.
