Procedure for the 5th and subsequent exam calls in the Philology Section

According to the ULL Assessment Regulations (Article 16) and those of the Boards of the fifth and subsequent calls, students in the fifth or subsequent calls will be assessed and graded by the subject professor following the assessment system established in the teaching guide. Likewise, these students, if requested, may be assessed and graded by a panel constituted for this purpose, which will not include the teaching staff teaching the subject, under the guidelines of a single assessment, provided that they have not participated in continuous assessment in activities whose weighting counts at least 50% of the assessment or the percentage established in the teaching guide.

In accordance with the University of La Laguna's regulations regarding the 5th and subsequent exam sessions, the following procedure is established for students who request to be evaluated and graded by a panel:

  1. Students must apply for this through the online application process available at the following link. This application must be submitted at least ten business days before the start of each official session, as established in the annual academic calendar.
  2. The courts of the fifth and subsequent calls will be formed by three professors, regardless of their contractual category or
    civil servant, who will act as president (depending on their higher category and seniority), secretary and member (depending on their lower category and
    seniority), as well as their respective substitutes.
  3. The examining board must administer the same types of tests as the rest of the students in the single assessment, as described in the course's teaching guide. In the case of a written test, it will be administered on the same date, time, and in the same classroom as the rest of the students. Generally, it will be the same exam as for the rest of the students taking the single assessment, as established in the teaching guide. If a member of the examining board is not present during the written assessment test, the teacher attending the exam must keep it in an envelope, seal it and sign it, and submit it to the examining board as soon as possible for marking and grading. If any activity must be completed digitally during the written test, it must be sent to the email address of the person presiding over the examining board, who will then mark the exam according to the same timeframes established in the academic calendar. If the exam is oral or has a practical part (laboratory, computer room, workshop, etc.), it will be carried out before the court at the same time.

Student evaluation by a panel in the fifth and subsequent examination sessions can be requested for each of the examination sessions scheduled in the annual academic calendar, including the examination for completion of studies.

The July exam session will consist of two assessments or calls for students in the 5th or subsequent exam sessions, whether or not they have requested panel assessment. Students may attend either assessment or both, provided they did not pass the subject in the first assessment. Students have the right to know the results of the first assessment and to access the review process sufficiently in advance to allow for the second assessment. The grade on the report card for the July exam session will be the grade obtained in the last assessment.
