The professional profile of the Physiotherapist is marked by the attributions derived from the competencies outlined in the proposed curricular guidelines for the Degree in Physiotherapy prepared by the Commission of Physiotherapy Specialists of the European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT):
– The Physiotherapy Graduate must demonstrate professional competence in their different fields of action, expressing knowledge, skills and attitudes in activities of promotion, maintenance, prevention, protection and recovery of Health, respecting the ethical, moral and cultural principles of the individual and the community.
– You must also demonstrate the ability to adapt to the technologies of the contemporary world, always seeking to update yourself in a continuous training process.
– Likewise, you must acquire a comprehensive view of your profession, which is generic in the field of Physiotherapy while being specific in your field of work, enabling the insertion of physiotherapeutic procedures in their different dimensions.
The provisions of Articles 2 and 7 of Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the regulation of health professions, which contain the basic aspects of qualified health professions.
In accordance with Article 36 of the Constitution, and for the purposes of this law, health professions, titled and regulated, are those whose undergraduate or specialized training is specifically and fundamentally aimed at providing interested parties with the knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to health care, and which are organized in professional associations officially recognized by the public authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the specifically applicable regulations.
