Internships in companies, organisations and institutions are compulsory in those master's degrees that have this established in their curriculum. They involve students getting closer to real situations, complementing the training received with the reality of the working world.
The internships aim to apply all the contents of the master's degree in a real situation of professional practice. Particularly in the knowledge of the organization and operation of the professional office, ethical issues and responsibility. The type of professional actions in which the student will participate will depend on the matters managed in the entity, requiring insertion into the work dynamics of the destination position, assumption of the work environment of the entity and assigned role.
In accordance with the provisions of art. 16 of RD 775/2011, of June 3, students will be supervised by a team of professionals headed by a lawyer who has practiced the profession for at least 5 years. During their internship, students will have the right to meet with the members of the tutoring team assigned to them. Each tutoring team, made up of at least 3 members, will have a maximum of 6 students. If the designated tutor is unable to carry out his/her work with the student, the tutor in charge of the tutoring team will appoint a new one, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations for the Management of External Internships for students at the University of La Laguna.
The tutoring team must prepare a report or memorandum every six months that details the activities carried out during the exercise of their functions.
a. Contents
During the external internship, the student must, with the help of the internal tutor, put into practice the knowledge acquired throughout the program. The student will be able to attend trials, draft legal documents, participate in the hearing and resolution of cases, as well as in everything that is required by the entity that hosts him in accordance with a plan previously agreed upon by both tutors and known to the student at the time. of its incorporation.

The internships may be carried out, in accordance with the provisions of article 15 of RD 775/2011, in courts or tribunals, prosecutors' offices, professional law firms or companies, penitentiary institutions, legal or human resources departments of Public Administrations, institutions officials or companies.
c. Duration of the internship
The internships, as established in article 14 of RD 775/2011, will entail 30 additional ECTS to those indicated in article 12 of the same legal text. The internships will cover a total of 740 hours that will take place during the three semesters of the Master's degree.

The Academic Committee will carry out the selection and assignment of academic tutors to the students. For his/her part, the Coordinator of External Internships of the degree, together with the academic tutors, is responsible for agreeing with the external tutors of the entities the number of students to be admitted, the temporality and the activities to be carried out by the students.
For the evaluation of this activity, the student must prepare a report on the activities carried out at the internship center, which will be assessed for the quality and correctness of expression regarding the content, as well as its presentation and defense.
