Access and admission of students to official Master's degree courses is governed by the provisions of article 18 of RD 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality. Likewise, it is regulated in articles 9 and 10 of the Regulations for Official Master's Degree Courses at the University of La Laguna (published in the Official Gazette of the ULL on May 14, 2020).
In accordance with the provisions of article 18 of the aforementioned RD 822/2021, to access official master's degree courses it will be necessary to be in possession of an official Spanish university degree of Graduate or equivalent, or, where appropriate, possess another University Master's degree, or degrees of the same level as the Spanish Bachelor's or Master's degree issued by universities and higher education institutions in a country of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that allows access to Master's studies in said country.
Likewise, people who hold qualifications from educational systems that are not part of the EHEA and are equivalent to a Bachelor's degree may access a Master's degree from the Spanish university system, without the need for the degree to be recognised, but the university must verify the level of training involved, provided that in the country where the degree was issued it allows access to university postgraduate studies. In no case will access via this route imply the recognition of the previous qualification held by the interested party or its recognition for any purpose other than carrying out Master's studies.
Admission is the allocation of places offered by the ULL to study official university courses among those who, fulfilling the access requirements indicated above (Graduate/Bachelor's degree and/or approved foreign qualification and B1 in English), have requested them.
Admission is carried out through the procedure established for this purpose in the ULL Regulations. The student must attach all official documents that prove the profile required for access, his/her academic record and his/her curriculum vitae, through which he/she will be evaluated for admission to the master's degree according to criteria of equality, merit and capacity.
The body responsible for admission that will evaluate the applications will be the Academic Committee of the degree, whose composition is determined in article 30 of the Regulations for Official Master's Degree Courses at the University of La LagunaArticle 31 of the aforementioned regulation states that the proposal for admission of students is one of the functions of the Academic Commission.
Admission profiles The qualifications that give access to the Master's degree are the following:
a) All degrees in social and legal sciences
b) Other qualifications related to management and public policy design Students must also prove their English level is B1.
Scale
In order to proceed with the admission and assessment of candidates, the scale described below will be applied. Students must provide the relevant certification for each of the merits provided.
a) Academic access profile: all degrees in social and legal sciences (4.0 points), other degrees related to management and the design of public policies or with involvement in regional development (2.0 points). b) Academic record (grade point average) (up to 2.0 points). c) Professional experience: experience in formulation, management and execution of public policies, evaluation methodologies, economic and territorial planning, land use planning, urban planning and management (up to 2.5 points). d) Instrumental knowledge: 1) knowledge of computer tools and/or quantitative and/or qualitative assessment methods; 2) knowledge of languages, especially English, at a level higher than B1 (up to 1.5 points). The evaluation will be carried out by the Academic Committee of the Master's Degree.
No specific admission tests are considered.
In the case of students with specific educational needs arising from a disability, the academic director of the master's degree will assess the need for possible curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies and will prepare the corresponding proposal to the Academic Committee of the Master's Degree for approval. To do so, there is support and advice from the Program for Attention to Students with Specific Educational Support Needs (PAED), which reports to the vice-rectorate with responsibilities for students.
Enrolment is the formal instrument through which one acquires the status of university student. Before enrolling, students who wish to take the Master's degree must meet the entry requirements and have obtained a place through the admission process.
The access, admission and registration instructions published annually contain the information necessary for the correct development of the process (modalities, periods, calendar, documentation to be submitted, payment methods, etc.).
