Master in Family, Social and Community Intervention and Mediation (Interuniversity)

Internships

Internships in companies, organizations and institutions are mandatory in those master's degrees that have it established in their curriculum. They involve bringing students closer to real situations, complementing the training received with the reality of the working world.

In the specialties, students choose to delve deeper into the field of Family and Minors or Social and Community Welfare, completing internships in their chosen field.

Academic internships may be carried out in collaborating entities/companies, such as companies, institutions, public/private entities, public administrations or dependent organizations, etc.

For the development of external internships, the University of La Laguna maintains the necessary agreements with companies, organizations and institutions in which it is considered that students can acquire the professional skills appropriate to the degree and that respond to the professional profiles defined in the Report.

General requirements for carrying out external internships

In order to carry out external internships, students must meet the following general requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the degree and in the External Internship subject of your study plan.
  • Not to maintain any contractual relationship with the company, institution or entity, except in cases described in the applicable regulations.
  • Any other academic requirement established by the degree in its Verification/Modification Report and in the teaching guide for the subject.

Organization of External Internships

The degree has the structures and mechanisms for the organisation, management, evaluation and monitoring of external internships, which are specified in: the Academic Committee of the Master (CAM), the Coordination of External Internships, the academic tutors and External tutors. At the degree level, the Coordinator of External Internships, who is included in the Teaching Guide, is responsible for managing the development of the subject:

External Internships are an integrated set of activities that provide direct experience in professional fields. Students will complete internships in different services, units, and centers and will be supervised during their internship by a University lecturer and a professional (with the appropriate qualifications) from the collaborating company, entity, or institution. Students will be assessed under the conditions described in the Teaching Guide and must follow the general guidelines for completing the internship. Students will be evaluated based on the professional tutor's assessment of the performance, involvement, and interpersonal skills demonstrated during the internship, and on the academic tutor's assessment of the quality and accuracy of the Internship Report.

The Academic Committee will carry out a process for the selection and assignment of academic tutors to students. The choice of centers and tutors is proposed by the students in order of priority according to the score obtained in the admission process to the Master's degree.

The Coordination of External Internships, in each specialty of the degree, together with the academic tutors, is responsible for agreeing with the external tutors of the entities the number of students admitted, the temporality and the activities to be carried out by the students.
