The University of La Laguna Rugby Club was founded in 1986 and originated within the university community through the Rector's Trophy, a competition between faculties. The University of La Laguna is the birthplace of Canarian rugby, which later spread to Gran Canaria, eventually leading to the creation of the Canarian Rugby Federation. The University of La Laguna was also the site of the first children's rugby activity almost 10 years ago. This 2023-24 season, rugby has returned to the University with several categories: Under 18, Under 21, Senior Women's and Senior Men's, and a veterans' school. The University of La Laguna Rugby Club returns after winning the Canarian Regional Rugby League XV last season with its first team. Continuously developing and actively participating in activities with other clubs across the archipelago at all levels, we always prioritize the values of rugby: integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline, and respect.
