Semi-active vibration isolation device

Engineering and Architecture

A semi-active vibration isolation device that works by varying the mechanical properties of a flexible polymer material with elastic properties through mechanical compression. This is achieved using a semi-active actuator to modify the material's internal damping effect. The device allows for precise adjustment of the isolation level for varying degrees of vibration.

Competitive advantage

It solves the problem of dissipating the energy transmitted by a variable oscillatory disturbance from a source to a final element to be isolated, trying to minimize the energy consumption and dependence of the isolation device itself.
The device represents a low-cost solution.
Its dimensions make it suitable for application in the insulation of small systems.
