Didactics of Mathematical Analysis: a review of research on its teaching and learning in the context of the SEIEM

The volume *Didactics of Mathematical Analysis: A Review of Research on its Teaching and Learning within the SEIEM Context. Period 1997-2014* brings together the most relevant research on mathematics didactics. The GIDAM research group (Research Group on Didactics of Mathematics), made up of researchers from several Spanish universities (University of Alicante, Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Lleida, University of Salamanca, University of Seville, University of La Laguna), undertook the creation of this volume with a dual objective: to give visibility to the group beyond the scope of the SEIEM (Spanish Society for Research in Mathematics Education) and to serve as a reference text for novice and trainee researchers who wish to address research on any aspect of the didactics of mathematical analysis.

The book is divided into four sections, which address different aspects of research in the Didactics of Mathematical Analysis: the theoretical frameworks underpinning the various investigations, mathematical concepts as the central focus of research on teaching and/or learning, the role of technology, and the role of the teacher. In general terms, the book provides an overview of current research trends (both national and international) in this area, the knowledge generated and the main research findings in the Didactics of Mathematical Analysis within the GIDAM research group, and finally, the characteristics of knowledge transfer processes, both through the contributions of research findings to teaching, curriculum, teacher training, etc., and through the influence of technological advances on the design of innovative proposals for teaching Mathematical Analysis.
