The Canary Islands, a strategic base for Africa's international economic relations c. 1850-2010

This publication presents a long-term analysis of the economic relations between the Canary Islands and Africa, specifically during the capitalist era. To this end, this document not only focuses on trade between the two territories, but also examines other areas, such as the role played by the Islands as an international logistics hub for economic actors from other countries conducting business with Africa, and the investments made by the Canary Islands' business community in African countries.
