Women and men at the University of La Laguna

Figures at the beginning of the 21st century

The study analyzes horizontal and vertical segregation within the educational institution. Horizontal segregation refers to the tendency in the labor market to concentrate women in less socially valued activities, while vertical segregation refers to the barriers that hinder their access to positions of responsibility in companies and institutions.

Thus, according to this work, at the beginning of the 21st century the ULL still shows evidence of both types of segregation in all its groups.
