Through the halls of the University
University Folkloric Group. La Laguna, 1983-2018
The AFU was founded spontaneously in the 1980s by university students from the seven islands of the archipelago, seeking an alternative to choral music and traditional student music groups. These students wanted to learn more than teach, to explore rather than dogmatize, and to recover a historical and musical heritage of exceptional value and beauty for the enjoyment of all their fellow countrymen. And they succeeded. Thirty-five years later, they continue to do so.
