UNIVERSITY COMMITMENT TO THE SDGs

University Social Responsibility in the 21st century involves working intensively to achieve the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The University of La Laguna is committed to bringing the SDGs closer to the university community, businesses and administrations, social agents, third sector entities and the public.

Our goals

We are fully immersed in the process of designing and developing some of the strategic lines of intervention around the 2030 Agenda.

Our main purpose is to carry out actions that contribute to its dissemination, activation and location in the island territory.

We aim to move forward from an institutional, holistic, comprehensive and cross-cutting approach that generates positive impacts on our environment.

Strategic lines

The main lines of research at the University of La Laguna are focused on achieving a greater connection between university management, teaching, research and social outreach. Our main areas of contribution to achieving each of the SDGs are the following:

Institutional governance and management policies, applying the principles of the 2030 Agenda through the management and governance of the University.

Research to support and underpin the implementation of the SDGs.

Learning and teaching, providing students and the entire university community with the knowledge, skills and sufficient motivation to understand and address the SDGs.


Projection and social leadership, strengthening the University's involvement in addressing the SDGs, helping to design policies aligned with the 2030 Agenda, as well as demonstrating the university's commitment to the Canary Islands Sustainable Development Agenda (Canary Islands Agenda 2030).

The process aimed at achieving the SDGs at the University of La Laguna is structured through our University Social Responsibility policy.

The Institution envisions the development of a progressive process that will allow for the redesign of a new model of relationship with society.
