THE ULL AND THE CANARY ISLANDS AGENDA 2030

Universities are called upon to play a fundamental role in achieving the SDGs. In fact, we are already making significant contributions to their fulfillment. For the SDGs to be a global success, universities need to lead their implementation in society.

Guide to good practices

WITHOUT DEVELOPMENT
SUSTAINABLE,
THERE IS NO FUTURE

The localization exercise of the UN 2030 Agenda in the Canary Islands has resulted in the approval of the Canary Islands Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 (Canary Islands Agenda 2030), a document that includes the 49 priorities for action and the 316 specific goals of the Canary Islands for the achievement of the 17 SDGs.

The Canary Islands Agenda 2030 is a roadmap that identifies the main structural problems of the Canary Islands, the policies to accelerate them, and the specific goals to which all actors must contribute in a coordinated manner to advance towards sustainable development in the region.

CANARY ISLANDS AGENDA 2030

The changes we are addressing require the effort of everyone in all areas of activity.

The Canary Islands Agenda 2030 is the result of a participatory process in which the following have been involved civil society, the third sector, academia, the business sector and local, island and regional public administrations, Conceiving sustainable development for the Canary Archipelago in a consensual manner.

The SDGs cannot be achieved without the involvement and active collaboration of citizens and all social and economic stakeholders.

The commitment and participation of our entire university community is essential to move forward and achieve results.

We consider it essential that our actions focus on disseminating knowledge, raising social awareness and generating commitment among people, in order to address the challenges set out in the Canary Islands Agenda 2030.

Now is the right time to act!
