Equality Commission

Who are we?

The Equality Commission of the Higher School of Engineering and Technology has the function of ensuring equality within our School and acting as an intermediary with other equality bodies of the University of La Laguna in cases of sexual and/or sexist harassment or discrimination on the grounds of gender.

Functions of the Equality Commission

As stated in article 23 of the Internal Regulations of the Higher School of Engineering and Technology, the functions of the Equality Commission are:

  1. To ensure compliance with the objectives associated with equal rights in the School, as well as all those assigned to them by the School Board and university regulations on equality.
  2. To ensure effective equality in the Center in order to achieve an inclusive, balanced, egalitarian, democratic and responsible teaching/academic space.
  3. To provide the Government of the ULL with the information that may be required relating to equality issues within the School.
  4. Collaborate in awareness-raising, training and action activities related to the field of equality in the School. Act as an intermediary between the ULL units (Gender Equality Unit, Occupational Risk Prevention Service and Inspection Office) responsible for actions related to the prevention, detection and action in cases of sexual harassment and sexist harassment and the people involved in these cases, with the obligation to make known any situation of possible or potential harassment or discrimination to said units.
