Guidance and tutoring

During their university studies, students need to design, manage and implement their own educational project, on which their academic success and future employment will largely depend.

This process requires guidance from the teaching staff, who advise and support the student from their entry into the University, guiding them in matters as important as their integration and adaptation to the Center, the organization of their independent work, the acquisition of skills to face problem-solving, the evaluation of the different sources of information related to their area of study and the knowledge of the different possible alternatives in terms of internships, national and international mobility and professional specialization.

The guidance function thus becomes a necessary extension of the teaching work of the faculty. It is also a fundamental pillar of the quality of university education.

The POAT organization of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication focuses on career tutoring and training and complementary activities, under the supervision of the POAT coordinator, the coordinators of each degree program and the Dean.

Career mentoring An academic itinerary could be defined as the task performed by a teacher who is concerned with the comprehensive training of a small group of students throughout their studies.

Students enrolled in the degree programs offered at the Faculty are assigned a tutor at the beginning of each academic year, and the tutors' office hours are published.

Regarding training and complementary activities, They address the needs of students related to their educational project and are developed in the following specific areas:

  • Integration and adaptation to the university environment
  • Learning processes and autonomous work strategies.
  • Knowledge and access to information sources.
  • Information and guidance for professional integration.
  • Career transition.
