SICUE Program
The Spanish University Exchange System (SICUE) allows students from Spanish universities to complete part of their studies at another university, with guaranteed academic recognition and credit transfer, as well as alignment with their curriculum. This program recognizes the educational value of exchange, enabling students to experience different teaching systems, including internships, as well as the diverse social and cultural aspects of other autonomous communities and cities.
The centers, degree programs, available places, and duration of the exchange (full academic year or one semester) are established through bilateral agreements between the different universities. Student mobility will be based on the content of the Academic Agreement, which outlines the activities to be carried out at the host institution (courses and/or internships) that will be automatically recognized by the home institution.
To be eligible for a SICUE exchange program, undergraduate students must meet the requirements outlined in the call for applications published annually. Selection of candidates for exchange programs will be based on academic criteria.
For more information on the SICUE Program, please consult the ULL Scholarship Office website.

Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2021-2027, as set out in Regulation (EU) 2021/817 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing Erasmus+, the Union Programme for education and training, youth and sport, and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1288/2013.
As a student of the University of La Laguna you can take advantage of the ERASMUS+ program, both in the study modality (SMS) and in the internship modality (SMT), the mobility programs of extra-community scope, and all those mobilities that the ULL includes in its offer, in accordance with the provisions of the respective calls and the regulations of the Faculty.
Study mobility (SMS) aims to allow students to take courses, generally for a semester or a full year with the corresponding credit recognition, at a university in one of the countries that are part of the program.
Furthermore, the SMT internship period is a stay for a period of time in a company or organization in another participating country, and its purpose is to help people adapt to the demands of the labor market at a community level, acquire specific skills and improve their understanding of the economic and social environment of the country in question, while at the same time gaining work experience.
These mobility programs enable our graduates to acquire both the knowledge and skills they need and an international cultural background highly sought after in the job market. Among the program's objectives are providing students with the social and cultural experience of living in other countries, enhancing their academic preparation for employment, and strengthening their communication, cooperation, adaptation, and cultural understanding skills.
Promoting internationalization in the degree program is of utmost importance, since it is necessary to improve and encourage students to undertake mobility under the Erasmus program, thereby breaking the trend of students completing their degree training without having had the opportunity to anticipate their future internships and needs in other countries where the implementation of new degree programs adapted to the European Higher Education Area is already a reality.
