Teaching coordination

The teaching coordination of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics is based on the following figures: degree coordinator, course coordinator and subject coordinator. 

Degree coordinator. He/she will be appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. His/her functions will be: 

  1. Conduct a continuous review of the teaching-learning process to update and improve the degree training program. 
  2. To carry out an in-depth analysis of possible overlaps or deficiencies that may be detected in the different programmes of subjects that may be related to each other, in order to correct these situations so that the Study Plan forms a compact and homogeneous whole. 
  3. Monitor the correspondence between the different subjects and the competencies of the degree. 

Course coordinator. This person is the point of reference for all the subject coordinators of the same course and his/her main objective is to coordinate the teaching planning of the course. The subject coordinators of a course must propose a course coordinator to the Faculty Board; once the proposal has been approved by the Faculty Board, he/she will be appointed by the Dean. His/her functions include:  

  1. Call and moderate meetings with the subject coordinators, centralizing their contributions. These meetings will be, at least:

    • Before the preparation of the Teaching Guides 
    • Before the start of the semester to plan it
    • At the end of the quarter to carry out the evaluation
  2. Analyze, together with the subject coordinators, the horizontal and vertical contents of the subjects, detecting duplications and paying special attention to the sequentiality of said contents. 
  3. Harmonize the distribution of the course workload, disseminating among the subject coordinators the planning of the theory, problems, laboratories, seminars, field practices, visits, personal work, evaluation tests (controls, partial and final) proposing modifications, if necessary, for an adequate distribution, etc.
  4. Collaborate with the Degree Coordinator in the preparation of schedules, distribution of activities and the formation of groups by activities 

Subject coordinator. This person is responsible for the organisational aspects of the theoretical and practical groups of the subject. This person is the point of contact for managing any malfunction that may occur during the course, informing the Director of the Department and/or Vice-Dean of the Degree. This person is also responsible for communicating to the Course Coordinator any aspect related to the organisation of the subject: changes in timetables, exam dates, etc.
