Erasmus+ KA171 Rest of the world – Incoming

This mobility program is aimed at students from universities in non-partner countries participating in the Erasmus+ KA171 program. If you plan to undertake a study or internship mobility at the ULL under this program, the first step is to contact the international relations office of your home university. You will need to follow their internal selection process to be officially nominated by the ULL.

Requirements

Interinstitutional agreement and nomination

Only students nominated by their home institution will be admitted. The nomination must be in accordance with a interinstitutional agreement KA171 current agreement between both universities for the student's level and field of study. 

Language requirements

He Spanish Spanish is the standard language of instruction at the ULL. All our university services are primarily offered in Spanish. For this reason, all international students must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in Spanish.

  • Minimum level of Spanish requiredB1 CEFR
  • Accepted certificates: DELE / SIELE / certificates issued by your home university.
  • International students who do not have a accepted Spanish certificate They must complete a free 30-hour online course offered by the ULL.

Student visa

Since you come from a country outside the European Union, you will need to manage your student visa before the Spanish consulate or embassy in your country of origin. Once your application for admission is accepted, the ULL will issue you a Letter of Acceptance Official document, essential for processing your visa. It is the student's responsibility to begin this process well in advance.

Criminal record certificate

Students enrolling in the following fields of study must present a Criminal Record Certificate:

  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Physiotherapy
  • Internship courses in Education

Length of stay

The mobility period must be as specified in the KA171 interinstitutional agreement. All students nominated for Medicine must request the full academic year.

Sure

International students must provide evidence of insurance that covers at least the following:

  • Travel insurance (including damage or loss of luggage)
  • Liability insurance
  • Accident and serious illness insurance (including temporary or permanent disability)
  • Death insurance (including repatriation).

Applications will be canceled if students do not have insurance coverage at the time of starting their mobility.

Additional requirements for postgraduate students (Master's and Doctorate)

The Doctoral and Postgraduate School (EDP) of the ULL is interdisciplinary and encompasses all doctoral and master's programs.

Master's Students

International Master's students from KA171 partner universities can come to ULL for a study exchange.

  • Once nominated, postgraduate students must choose their courses from among our master's programs to be accepted.
  • Graduate students who cannot find a Master's program related to their field of interest can choose undergraduate courses from the final year of any degree (4th year). Bachelor's degree courses (4th year) and Master's degree courses can be combined in the Learning Agreement.
  • Master's Thesis: Erasmus+ international students they cannot be accepted to work on their Master's Thesis as part of their stay at studies. For students wishing to spend a period of research at ULL, it is mandatory to be nominated under the program of Erasmus+ Traineeship.

PhD Students

PhD students wishing to undertake a research period at ULL must apply through the program Erasmus+ Traineeships.

  • They will need to contact a professor at our university who agrees to supervise their stay here and sign the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.

KA171 Grant Funding

Unlike European Erasmus+ mobility, KA171 program grants are managed and paid for by the destination university (the ULL).

The Erasmus+ KA171 grant consists of:

  1. A travel assistance (calculated according to the distance band between your home university and the ULL).
  2. A monthly living allowance (a fixed amount stipulated by the Erasmus+ program).

How to apply

  1. Nomination: Your home university must nominate you first.
  2. Application: Once your nomination is accepted, you will receive detailed instructions and a link to complete your application online.
  3. Required Documents:
    • Valid passport.
    • Spanish B1 certificate (or confirmation of enrollment in the ULL online course).
    • Learning agreement signed by the coordinator of your home university.
    • Copy of your insurance policy.
    • Criminal record certificate (only if applicable).
  4. Acceptance: If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance official confirmation by email. Do not make any travel or accommodation arrangements (and do not apply for a visa) until you have received this confirmation.
