In accordance with the provisions of article 18 of Real Decreto 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the quality assurance procedure, to access official master’s education it will be It is necessary to be in possession of an official Spanish university degree, or, where appropriate, have another University Master’s degree, or another issued by a higher education institution of a country of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that authorizes the same access to Master’s studies.
Likewise, graduates in accordance with educational systems outside the EHEA will be able to access without the need for the homologation of their degrees, after verification by the university that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they empower the issuing country of the title for access to postgraduate education. Access through this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested person, nor its recognition for other purposes than that of studying the Master’s degree.
As it is a degree that gives access to the professional title of Chief Engineer of the Merchant Navy, the conditions of access to the master's degree must comply with the provisions of the Resolution of the General Secretariat of Universities, of January 20, 2016 (BOE of June 23) which publishes the Agreement of the Council of Universities that establishes recommendations for the proposal by universities of application reports for official titles in the fields of Nautical and Maritime Transport, Marine Technologies, Marine Electrotechnics and Naval Radioelectronics. In accordance with the aforementioned Regulation, the Master’s Academic Committee (CAM) will be in charge of carrying out the admission process. Its members will be appointed by the participating university departments or institutes, in a number proportional to their teaching dedication. In general, pre-registration for all ULL master’s degrees will require accreditation of a B1 level in English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In the case of students with specific educational needs derived from disability, the academic direction of the master’s degree will assess the need for possible curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies and will prepare the corresponding proposal to the Master Academic Committee for approval. For this, it has the support and advice of the Program for Attention to Students with Specific Educational Support Needs (PAED), dependent on the vice-rectorate with competences in students.
Enrollment is the formal instrument through which university student status is acquired. The student who wishes to take the Master Degree, before enrolling, must meet the access requirements and have obtained a place through the admission process.
