Internships in companies, organizations and institutions are mandatory in those master's degrees that have it established in their curriculum. They involve bringing students closer to real situations, complementing the training received with the reality of the working world.
The external internships (Internships in Companies) of this master's degree involve an activity of 450 hours during the fourth semester and are carried out, mainly, in companies in the energy sector located anywhere in the world. The internship period can begin before said semester for students who demonstrate a better academic record and depending on the demand of companies in the sector, establishing the corresponding agreement through the ULL Business Foundation.
Internships are an additional subject, which must be taken, and are evaluated at the end of the semester.
The assignment of students to companies is done prioritizing:
a) companies that have indicated their preferences for a particular student;
b) students with disabilities, so that they can apply for companies where all universal accessibility measures are ensured;
c) student preferences regarding the internships offered and best academic record
Since our master's degree has both a professional and research-based path leading to a doctoral thesis, internships are carried out both in companies and in internationally renowned research centres, and are often funded by the centres and companies themselves or by Erasmus+. We have also signed several agreements with European universities for students to carry out part of their studies.
Academic internships may be carried out in collaborating entities/companies, such as companies, institutions, public/private entities, public administrations or dependent organizations, etc.
For the development of external internships, the University of La Laguna maintains the necessary agreements with companies, organizations and institutions in which it is considered that students can acquire the professional skills appropriate to the degree and that respond to the professional profiles defined in the Report.
