The Credit Recognition and Transfer system will be carried out in accordance with the current regulations established in the Regulations for the Recognition, Adaptation and Transfer of Credits of the University of La Laguna.
Article 3 of the Regulations establishes the definitions of recognition and transfer of credits. Credit recognition is understood as the acceptance of credits obtained in official courses at the same or another university or from Higher Grade Vocational Training, academic activities or validation of work or professional experience, for their computation towards the purpose of obtaining an official degree from the University of La Laguna.
Credit transfer is understood as the recording in the official academic documents of the University of La Laguna accrediting the studies followed by each student of all the credits obtained in official studies previously taken, at the same or another university, which have not been recognized or have not led to the obtaining of an official degree.
Chapter II of the Regulations defines the rules for the recognition and transfer of credits. As applicable to Master's studies, Article 4 establishes the following rules:
Credit recognition will be for the total credits of a subject and recognition of a partial number of credits will not be considered.
The Master's Final Project cannot be subject to recognition.
Credits obtained in studies belonging to the same cycle will be subject to recognition: master's degree.
Credits may also be awarded for official master's degree courses based on previous studies completed in ULL's own postgraduate degrees or at another university, depending on the adequacy between the skills and knowledge associated with the subjects passed and those provided for in the curriculum of the corresponding official master's degree courses. This recognition may not exceed 15% of the total credits of the official degree.
Credits obtained in bachelor's degree courses from previous university degree systems may be recognised in official university master's degree courses depending on the suitability of content and/or skills between them.
The recognition unit will be the modules, subjects and courses, as established in the corresponding study plan.
They will appear on the transcript as recognised credits and will be taken into account as credits earned towards the degree.
The Regulation provides, in application of current legislation, the recognition of up to 15% of the total credits of the degree for previous professional experience or for subjects included in specific postgraduate degrees. However, in the Master in Management in Nautical Management and Maritime Transport No HE consider this possibility of recognition.
