The Editorial Board of Accadere. Revista de Historia del Arte wishes to remind the academic community that the journal’s regular call for manuscript submissions remains open for the December 2026 issue, with a submission deadline of 30 September 2026.

Accadere welcomes original research articles presenting unpublished work, with an explicit methodological approach and a clear contribution to historiographical and critical debate in the fields of Art History and Visual Studies.

In this regard, authors are reminded of the importance of ensuring that submitted manuscripts present, in an articulated and coherent manner:

  • a clearly defined theoretical framework;
  • precise research objectives;
  • explicit hypotheses;
  • a clearly formulated methodology;
  • critical analysis grounded in relevant sources and specialised scholarly literature;
  • and conclusions consistent with the development and findings of the study.

Strict compliance with the journal’s editorial guidelines is also essential, together with the correct completion of all metadata on the submission platform and the submission of the Authorship Form. Manuscripts must also be submitted in anonymised form, in accordance with the journal’s double-blind peer-review process.

The journal reaffirms its commitment to an editorial policy founded on scientific rigour, transparency in the evaluation process, and the academic quality of the work it publishes.

We thank the research community for its continued interest and for its contribution to the development of a critical and methodologically robust historiography.

    We are pleased to inform our readership that issue 11 of Accadere (June 2026) is now available. It includes six articles addressing different topics: 1. The representation of King Charles II (1661–1700) through the proclamation medals produced for the official ceremonies held in 1666 in Seville, Granada, and the Spanish Netherlands; 2. The proliferation of the various terms used to refer to artistic research—research on, for, and in art—and their epistemological and institutional implications; 3. The professional career of Pedro García de Sanlúcar, one of the master builders of Seville Cathedral during the early phases of the Gothic project, documented between 1419 and 1440; 4. The artistic theory of Piet Mondrian, with particular attention to his reflections on art’s capacity to evoke emotions, the nature of those emotions, and the means through which they are generated, a dimension frequently overlooked due to the rationalist interpretation of his work; and 5. The awards granted by the “Manuel Belgrano” Fine Arts Salon from a gender perspective during the period between 1980 and 1990.

    Accadere welcomes original research articles, resulting from unpublished work, with an explicit methodological approach and a clear contribution to historiographical and critical debate in the field of Art History and Visual Studies.

    In this regard, the importance is recalled of manuscripts presenting, in an articulated and coherent manner:

    • a clearly defined theoretical framework,

    • a critical analysis supported by sources and specialized bibliography,

    Dear colleagues,

    Due to the high volume of submissions recently received by Accadere, many of which we have been obliged to reject, we consider it necessary to remind contributors of certain essential criteria for the proper preparation of manuscripts:

    Accadere does not publish outreach texts nor general essays. Submissions must consist of original research articles.

    We do not accept translations, nor revised or adapted versions of articles previously published elsewhere.

    It is essential to follow the journal’s editorial guidelines in their entirety, exactly as indicated.

    All metadata must be accurately completed on the submission platform, strictly following the instructions provided.

    Manuscripts must present clearly and coherently:

    • Theoretical framework

    • Objectives

    • Hypotheses

    • Methodology

    • Analysis

    • Conclusions

    The Authorship Form must be attached, with all required information completed in full.

    Submissions must be made in anonymous format, in accordance with our double-blind peer review policy.

    We emphasize that these requirements are not merely formal, but essential to ensure the quality and transparency of academic publishing.

    We also inform that a new submission period is now open until 15 February 2026, for the issue scheduled for June 2026.

    We are pleased to inform our readership that issue 9 of Accadere (June 2025) is now available. It includes six articles addressing different topics: 1. a study of the domestic furnishings of the First Marquis of Espinardo in the Kingdom of Galicia as a form of representation of Baroque comfort; 2. an approach to female tastes at the seventeenth-century Hispanic court through the portraits of Isabel of Bourbon and Mariana of Austria; 3. an intermedial reading of the work of Marga Gil Roësset through the literary, sculptural, and pictorial figures that traverse it; 4. an analysis of Enlightenment and reformist policies implemented in viceregal Lima under Gil de Taboada y Lemos at the end of the eighteenth century; 5. a documentary review of the Convent of the Minims of Granada in the context of the 1836 disentailment; and 6. a new attribution to the sculptor Juan Adán of the sculptural group of Our Lady of Bethlehem from the Convent of Santa Cruz in Córdoba, thereby expanding the known catalogue of his workshop.

    We are pleased to inform our readership that issue no. 8 of Accadere is now available. It includes seven articlesaddressing different topics: 1. the book Twentysix Gasoline Stations by Ed Ruscha, which represented a paradigm shift, both in terms of the emergence of a new working format and in the definition of a new way of understanding the artist’s profession; 2. a survey of the life and work of the Cuban singer Merceditas Valdés, a mediator between Yoruba cultureand Afro-Cuban music, commemorating the centenary of her birth; 3. tourist promotion posters for Asturiascommissioned by two institutions framed within different dictatorial regimes at the beginning of the twentieth century: the National Tourism Board and the General Directorate of Tourism; 4. the journey of several paintings of special interest from the Monastery of San Zoilo de Carrión until their definitive disappearance; 5. the evolution and development of the iconography of Saint John the Baptist in cinema; 6. the pathways of disintegration of the collection of the sixth Count of Monterrey; and 7. the compilation of the documented works attributed to date to the sculptor Jerónimo Gómez, intended to serve as a concise catalogue of the artist and his workshop.

    On this occasion, we would like to welcome the new members of the Technical Team of Accadere: Sheila María Sánchez Martel, Elena Herrera González, and Iria Parada Regueira, who will join us in production work from the present issue onward.

    We are pleased to inform our readership that issue no. 7 of Accadere is now available. It includes five articlesaddressing different topics, specifically: 1. an unprecedented assessment of the international trajectory of Max Jiménez Huete (1900–1947), a key figure for Costa Rican and Central American avant-garde art, through his international journey; 2. an analysis of the figure of the imaginer Luján Pérez through the study of one of the minor sculptures attributed to him, namely a previously unknown Calvary; 3. the anti-modernist process of the journal Quixote between 1920 and 1926; 4. the genealogy of the maternal imaginary in Argentine cinema from 1933 to the present, mapping its most representative figures and their evolution over time; and 5. the ways of representing human anatomy in Picasso’s workin relation to the biopolitical and, above all, thanatopolitical development of fascisms during the 1930s and 1940s, in Spain and Europe.
