Profiles of research staff

There are several tools you can use to manage your professional identity and compile all your scientific output. We highlight the following:

  • ORCID
  • ResearcherID-Publons on WOS
  • Scopus AuthorID
  • Profile in Google Scholar Citations

The advantages of having these identifiers are:

  • The unique identification of the authors
  • To facilitate information and ensure the most complete retrieval of scientific output attributable to an author
  • Facilitate the process of submitting documentation for official calls for proposals and grants (six-year research periods, etc.)
  • It is a requirement for publishing with major publishing houses

ORCID

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a non-profit organization that has developed a unique identifier (composed of 16 digits) for the authors of scientific works.

This initiative is supported by leading publishers and research institutions in order to:

  • To guarantee the unequivocal distinction of the scientific and technical production of researchers.
  • Link the research activities referenced in different information systems.

You can register with ORCID by filling out the form that appears in this link. You will receive a message in your email, and once accepted, you can add your publications using your ORCID number and password. If you already have a Scopus or ResearcherID profile, this tool will allow you to transfer your bibliographic references through a simple process.

Google Scholar Citations

Google Scholar Citations It is a tool for Google Scholar This tool generates a research profile/curriculum vitae based on documents indexed in Google Scholar. It provides a list of publications and their corresponding citations, allowing users to add, edit, and standardize records in Google Scholar. Once configured, it automatically updates the publication and citation lists (GSC help).

See the tutorial «How to create a Google Scholar Citations profile step by step«, prepared by the ULL Library, as well as the Google Scholar Citations help page.
