Frequently Asked Questions about the Research Portal

What types of publications are included in the Portal?

Articles from indexed journals, books, book chapters, and published conference proceedings.

Where do the publications come from?

Automatic uploads are made from Dialnet (daily), Scopus and WOS (weekly)

Those publications that are not in these databases (or that for some reason have not been uploaded) can be requested by the teaching and research staff through their profile on the Portal

How often are the publications added to the portal updated?

Publications from Dialnet are updated every 24-48 hours. Uploads from Scopus are weekly, although if they contain errors in the identifiers, they may require a process of several weeks for integration.

What happens to posts that are not on the portal?

You will need to enter them manually. The added publication will await validation by the Library before being permanently added to the Portal.

What happens to unpublished conference proceedings?

At the moment, contributions to conferences that are not published are not included.

How do I delete documents that are not mine?

You cannot delete them. Please report the issue to the Library. through the following form

How can I add information to the Portal about supervised theses or participation in examination boards?

You cannot add this information. Please report the issue to the Library. through this form

Why aren't my Scopus articles on the Portal?

If they are recent, they may not have been collected yet. If they are older, the Library will check for errors. Please report the issue to the Library. through this form

How can collaborators be added or removed?

You cannot add or modify this information. Please report this issue to the Library. through this form

How to include research projects that are not on the Portal?

The Science Portal lists projects from the last 10 years that have been awarded to the University of La Laguna; that is, the projects for which the ULL has received funding. To be included, they must be listed in the project directory of the Scientia portal.cientia.ull.es) and the information on the Portal is updated every two months.

How can I correct the errors that appear on my profile?

Error correction must be performed at the source of the erroneous data. Therefore, notification must be given. through this form to manage the correction, which will be visible in the next Portal update.

How can errors in Research Groups (wrong name, lack of members, etc.) be corrected?

The correction of errors in Research Groups must be managed through the Vice-Rectorate for Research by means of a General Request on the electronic platform.

How can agreements be added?

The agreements and contracts listed on the Cientia Researcher Portal (cientia.ull.es) have not yet been uploaded to the Portal. They will be uploaded in subsequent updates.
