Description
Ultimate is the sport of the flying disc or "Frisbee". It is a team sport, aerobic and complete, where there is no physical contact.
It is a mixed-gender sport (boys and girls play simultaneously) played with self-officiating, which requires a high degree of respect and sportsmanship. It originated in the United States in the 1960s and has since spread worldwide, now boasting a global federation, the WFDF.
To play this sport, all you need is a regulation disc, 2 teams, a rectangular field, and a desire to have fun.
Goals
- Learn about the sport and develop the motor skills necessary to practice it.
- To foster the development of a team spirit, breaking down gender barriers.
- Promote Ultimate as a new, complete, spectacular and educational sport.
- Bringing in competent international teams with high-level playing experience in order to increase the competitiveness and growth of Ultimate in the Canary Islands.
Activity structure
The sessions will be divided into three parts:
- Technical section, where basic discus throws will be practiced.
- Physical and tactical part where the most basic movements and plays of this sport will be practiced.
- Educational section, where information will be provided on the philosophy, operation, rules and regulations of this sport.
Each session will begin with a general warm-up to prevent injuries and activate the body and mind. Practice matches will also be played.
