Justify and explain

Epistemic justification as a type of naturalistic explanation guided by reflection

The study falls within the area of epistemology (theory of scientific knowledge) and aims to analyze the logical mechanism used to develop explanations and justifications for beliefs.

In the introduction, the author attempts to explain the book's objective, a complex task given its reliance on extremely precise language: "As long as the distinction between believing we know something and actually knowing it retains any meaning, and as long as we truly want to know and not just believe we know, we will continue to strive to justify our beliefs as best we can. And that includes continuing to try new answers to the same old epistemological problems. And it involves continuing to discover or invent new problems.".
