Although the Program does not have a Guide to good practices for the supervision or tutelage of doctoral students, the following are essential duties of the director:
a. Assist the doctoral student in defining the topic of his or her doctoral research, which should culminate in the doctoral thesis.
b. Help the doctoral student to address the different aspects related to the research and to establish the specific details of the same, as well as the required means and, where appropriate, the design.
c. To indicate to the doctoral student the most appropriate training activities for their research.
d. Inform the doctoral student of any ethical regulations or aspects that may be related to his or her research.
e. Establish the research work supervision plan and schedule regular meetings.
f. Read, correct, and comment on the thesis manuscript, in successive drafts, prior to the agreed submission date.
g. Know the administrative and academic requirements for defending the thesis and the time limits corresponding to the entire process, as well as ensure that the doctoral student is aware of them.
