Competencies

Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for the exercise of professional activities.

In the Degree in Applied Francophone Studies The development of the basic competencies included in the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES), RD1393/2007, by students is guaranteed:

Basic skills

  1. Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que incluye algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio.
  2. Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo de forma profesional, y posean las competencias demostrables a través de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio.
  3. Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes, normalmente dentro de su área de estudio, para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética.
  4. Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado.
  5. Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

CE2. Knowledge of translation methodology (direct and reverse) in French in order to be able to translate texts of various kinds.

CE3. Knowledge of French-language literature.

CE4. Knowledge of the history and culture of the Francophonie.

CE5. Knowledge of the socioeconomic reality of the French-speaking world.

CE6. Knowledge of the geography of the French-speaking world.

CE7. Knowledge of the linguistic reality of contemporary Romance Europe.

CE8. Knowledge of Western cultural traditions.

CE9. Basic knowledge of the main artistic languages and concepts from a historical perspective.

CE10. Knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of the main historical events.

CE19. Ability to produce reports and materials of various kinds (sociocultural, economic-commercial, protocol, diplomatic, artistic, literary, etc.) in both French and Spanish.

CE20. Ability to provide linguistic and cultural advice and intervention, applying linguistic, literary, and cultural knowledge in different areas (administration, business, unions, immigration, etc.).

CE21. Ability to program tasks and design resources for linguistic and cultural integration.
