Between Rooting and Uprooting: the Poetics of Women’s Wandering
Abstract
This article looks at identity from a cross-border perspective. On the one hand, it reveals how the text Walaande (2010) by Djaïli Amadou Amal, constructs the feminine in a third-space, between Western, African and Peul sensitivities and, on the other hand, gives a composite and inclusive coloration to the feminist movement, by decentring colonial precedence and refocusing the old “periphery”. Here and elsewhere, therefore, fight easily within the amalian feminine character while neutralizing themselves, to see emerging a feminine identity with cross-border hints. Thus, through decolonial/inclusive feminism, we highlight the fundamental relay that inhabiting the border represents in post-colonial and in the aesthetics of feminine refocusing.
