Description
We will practice Integral Yoga. This is a physical and mental practice that promotes overall well-being. We will familiarize ourselves with yoga postures and breathing and relaxation exercises, seeking to liberate the body in order to access the mind.
It can be practiced by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition, as the instructor will guide the practice correctly so that anyone can adapt it to their own body without fear of injury or harm if there is already a pathology or pain.
A basic class integrates physical postures (warm-up, flexion, extension, twisting and lateral bending exercises), breathing exercises and an inner awareness work that is achieved through concentration at the beginning of the class, observation of the body and breathing during the practice of the postures and the final relaxation.
The attitude during yoga practice is very important: consistency, patience, respect, kindness, non-competitiveness, and listening to oneself. Learn to recognize, respect, and accept your limitations; each day our body and mind are different, so you must listen to yourself to begin a new practice, a new learning experience, a new challenge. Ultimate is the sport of the flying disc or "Frisbee." It is a team sport, aerobic and complete, where there is no physical contact.
Goals
- Improve overall well-being by balancing mind and body. Optimize organ function, balance stress, and promote restful sleep.
- Reduce stress by improving stress management.
- Relax and focus your mind and release tension from your body. It brings you inner peace and focus. It helps you be present and happy.
- Boosting the immune system. Muscle contraction and stretching, along with organ movement, helps the lymphatic system fight infections and eliminate toxins from the body.
- Strengthening and toning muscles. Holding yoga postures for varying periods of time strengthens the muscles. All nerves branch out from the spine, connecting the various organ systems to the brain. If the spine is rigid, nerve impulses cannot flow freely throughout the body, and internal organs weaken. Keeping the spine flexible keeps the nerves strong.
- Increase flexibility. It increases the elasticity of connective tissues, the cells that bind muscle fibers together. And it improves the stretch reflex and other functions of the autonomic nervous system.
That's why it's such an effective method for increasing flexibility.
