Guidance and tutoring

European convergence in education and the Spanish legislation being developed in this regard are generating changes in university teaching that involve:

  • from an education system focused on teaching to an education focused on learning.
  • From terminal learning to lifelong learning.
  • From content-based learning to competency-based learning.
  • from the role of the teacher as a transmitter of knowledge to that of a mediator of skills.

Royal Decree 1393/2007, on the Organization of University Education, incorporates the criterion of "guidance" whose purpose is to help the student throughout their degree program to manage their personal and professional project, which involves integration and adaptation to the university environment, the learning process, access to information, independent work, etc.

The need to support and accompany the student in their professional project acquires fundamental relevance since the student requires more personalized attention and guidance in the learning processes and integration of the different curricular contents.

The EUENSC will endeavor to meet the guidance needs of its students in the following areas:

  • Adaptation to the center's operating dynamics
  • Guidance on how to access academic information
  • Guidance for making the most of the training process for each subject
  • Support for supplementary training needs
  • Information related to mobility and academic and work exchanges.
  • The new socio-labor demands.
  • Participation in university life.
  • Regulations, administrative procedures, etc.

These interventions supporting the students' needs at the center form the basis upon which the EUENSC's tutorial action model will be built. Tutorial action must address students' needs regarding:

  • INFORMATION (of a bidirectional type, EUENSC-students)
  • ACADEMIC MONITORING (performance improvement)
  • TRAINING INTERVENTION (Curriculum Complementarity)
  • GUIDANCE (support for personal projects)

These guidance and mentoring programs provide complementary spaces for developing the transversal competencies of the nursing curriculum. These areas complement each other, and each manages different programs and activities that converge in the guidance and mentoring of students during their time at the EUENSC.
